No! The tool works with any image. Non-square images will be cropped from the center before applying the circle mask, so the most important content should be centered in your image.
Output is always PNG with a transparent background (unless you choose white, black, or custom). PNG is required to preserve the circle transparency. JPG does not support transparency.
